The Powervault P5 is a slim, all-in-one home battery system, designed and built in the UK, that stores clean energy from your solar panels or the grid.
It gives you access to reliable power at any time of the day or night, and can even keep your home running when the grid goes down. With its intelligent SMARTSTORM AI software, the P5 automatically learns your usage habits, monitors the weather, and knows when the cheapest tariff is available - so it always makes the best decision for your home and your bills.
The battery includes a fully integrated inverter, meaning solar generation and storage are handled in one compact, wall-mounted unit. The P5 is scalable, flexible, and built to grow with you - making it one of the smartest and most versatile home energy storage systems on the market.
By storing your solar energy during the day, the Powervault P5 lets you run your home on clean, stored power during the evenings and at times when energy prices are at their highest. It works seamlessly with time-of-use tariffs – such as Octopus Energy – charging from the grid at off-peak rates and discharging when it costs more, helping to significantly reduce your bills over time.
With the optional Powervault Gateway, the P5 also provides whole-home backup when the grid goes down. In the event of a power cut, the Gateway automatically switches your home's power supply to the battery, keeping your lights, appliances and broadband running without interruption. Severe weather SMS alerts will even notify you of potential outages in advance, automatically pre-charging your battery so you're never caught off guard.
The P5's built-in SMARTSTOR™ software is what sets it apart. Using AI prescriptive analytics, it actively manages your solar and grid energy use by predicting the weather, learning your usage patterns, and identifying the cheapest times to draw from the grid. The result is up to 80% more savings compared to a standard solar battery with no scheduling capability.
The P5 starts at 5kWh and can be expanded all the way up to 20kWh per unit, with three-phase configurations available for even larger energy capacity. Whether your needs grow over time or you want to start small and scale up, the P5 is designed to grow with you. You can be confident your system is future-proofed from the moment it's installed.
Unlike systems that require separate components, the P5 combines both the inverter and battery in a single, compact unit. Available as AC or DC-coupled, it integrates seamlessly with most existing solar panel setups — including retrofits — without the need for major additional equipment.
