As well as the environmental disadvantages, a new connection to mains gas can be costly, and installing a boiler, traditional ‘wet’ radiators and pipework can be incredibly disruptive and messy. There may be constraints, especially if you live in managed apartments or a converted property. By comparison, electric radiators can be fitted almost anywhere with minimal disruption.
Gas boilers require annual servicing and expensive maintenance, whereas electric heating systems are often maintenance free. Gas central heating also comes with the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. As a result, it’s vital to install carbon monoxide monitors, which must be regularly checked.
Electric radiators run independently of each other, so if you choose to turn one off, the rest of the property will still be cosy and warm. They’re also silent, quick to heat up and easily programmable.

The phase change material does not contain any toxic or hazardous materials, and there is no end-of-life disposal issues.

The smallest model measures just 575mm deep, 365mm wide and 440mm high, making it ideal for smaller properties.

There’s no need for a noisy fan, so you won’t get uncomfortable dry air associated with other forms of electric heating, just a comfortable, peaceful environment. The power modulation technology within each radiator ensures that once it’s up to temperature, it will typically only draw between 15-17 minutes of electricity per hour to maintain temperature, giving you more warmth for your money.
